I specifically bought my first mac when I decided to move to Ableton and could not be happier. I lost years of productivity trying to make it work with a PC. I could not be happier. You can get ASIO drivers for PC but it still will never measure up to Core Audio. On a Mac you will choose CoreAudio instead of MME/Direct X. Alternatively, if you have chosen to use the additional M-Track ASIO driver for windows, select ASIO for Driver Type and select M-Track ASIO as your Audio Device. You can now exit out of this window. How to set up your audio interface Firstly, download and install the latest driver for your audio interface (if available). Connect the USB cable between your computer and the interface. Open Live's preferences to the Audio tab. Click on Driver Type and select CoreAudio (Mac) or ASIO (Windows).
My first problem was that the default sound driver option MME/DirectX has horrible latency and the Focusrite USB ASIO only shows signal in but never out.The same goes for ASIO4ALL, with all the hardware options turned on I only get signal in, never out. I have tried all these drivers with the sound card options in Windows 10 set to in/out Focusrite USB and Speakers. I don't know what to try next.
Anyone?
What is Asio for all Driver ?
ASIO4ALL is a hardware independent low latency ASIO driver for WDM audio devices. It uses WDM Kernel-Streaming and sometimes even more sophisticated methods to achieve its objectives.
Asio4All is a sound driver, or in other words, it is the platform that FL Studio uses to produce sound from your computer. You either need this installed on your computer, or have an external audio card (sound driver) to run FL properly. Sound cards/drivers are not something to sweat over, but definitely something to become familiar with as you continue to work with audio.
